Throughout August the Plough in Torrington is exhibiting a John Moat Retrospective.

From the Plough: “John Moat, who died in 2014 aged 78, was a poet, novelist and painter who also taught and inspired countless other writers through the Arvon Foundation, which he founded nearly 50 years ago with his friend John Fairfax. He was a great supporter of the Plough and we are delighted to be showing a selection of his work. Although better known as a writer he painted throughout his life, producing flowers, landscapes and allegories whose colours radiate that imaginative power which illuminated his life and all those he came into contact with.”
